How it all began!
During the 1904-1905 Welsh revival, the Holy Spirit sent members of Babell Chapel to a dark and
dismal area of Cwmbwrla called Gorse
Road. John Thomas, Charles Taliesin Rhys and Phillip
Meyrick and many others from Babell made it their mission to go out and tell the people of Cwmbwrla and the poor families
of Gorse Road about the love of God.
The Cwmbwrla Tin Plate Works, based on the Gorse
Road site gave permission for an unused wood and tin shed, fondly known
to us now as the “Black Shed”, to be used as a place for families, especially the children of the area to
worship and learn more about Jesus …
… After all this time we have survived the changes and are still here, celebrating a 100
years of sharing the Good News about the love of God at Cwmbwrla TODAY!
We are a friendly bunch and invite you to share in our times of worship and praise;
after all, "strangers are friends we have not yet met." The love of God is not for us to keep to ourselves so come
and share in our celebration of God's everlasting love for us all.
A warm welcome to everyone!
